book-typesetting Skill
A Claude Code skill that turns a manuscript into press-ready book files
A Claude Code skill that turns a markdown manuscript into press-ready book files. It scaffolds a Quarto project with the full LaTeX preamble and Lua filter chain, imports Word manuscripts (splitting chapters, redistributing footnotes, lifting captions out of alt text), and lays out one- or two-column interiors with mirrored margins, pooled footnotes, full-width figure bands and an index. It converts RGB to CMYK PDF/X-1a:2001 with an embedded profile and TrimBox, stripping annotations first so Ghostscript cannot silently abandon PDF/X mode and stamp a file as conformant when it is not. A verifier pre-flights the output against what IngramSpark and KDP actually reject and prints the file's real geometry. Covers render from an Inkscape SVG to a wraparound plus proof.
